We are about to celebrate 157 years as a church on Sunday June 7th as we celebrate Homecoming. While Homecoming is not what it used to be it is still an exciting time to stop and consider what God has done through the years of the life of the church. Even if we knew exactly how many people had placed their faith in Christ through the years we still would not know the full impact of the life and witness of the church but I must confess it would be interesting to know how many people have been saved directly through the ministry of this church.

That number would become even more amazing to consider if we could know how many people had been impacted by people who were saved here and went on to other areas and shared their faith and those that came to Christ through that witness that went on to share their faith and so forth. To see that spiritual family tree expand even farther we could consider how many people have come to faith as the result of the missionaries that have been aided through the faithful giving of the members in this church. Truly the Kingdom of God has been greatly impacted by the faithful witness of this church over the last 157 years.

We have such a great cloud of witnesses that have gone before us and been willing to do things for the Kingdom of God. They have taken bold steps, steps of faith to minister to people and have sacrificed physically and financially to see people added to the Kingdom of God. Indeed in times like these we should consider those who have gone before us.

I am convinced that God has much for us to accomplish in the years ahead and I believe you share the passion and heart of those that have gone before us. You want to see people added to the Kingdom of God and you are willing to make those sacrifices to ensure that God will continue to use this church to impact eternity in the years ahead. Thank you for faithfully giving of your time, talent and resources to literally change lives through the power of God working in us and through us. Soli Deo Gloria, To God Alone Be the Glory!
