You probably remember the old commercial where the guy walked around with his cell phone asking, “can you hear me now?”, he was demonstrating how well the signal was with his carrier. Evidently, he didn’t pull into our driveway or he would not have gotten a response! A bad signal can be frustrating, especially at times when the call is important, and you need to hear from the other end.

There was a time in my life when important communication was broken, that is, my communication with God. Due to disobedience in my life I had shut off the lifeline to heaven, I had covered my ears to what He had to say. The sad part is that I was unaware that the communication was broken and was allowed to suffer in my own decisions. After a time in the “wilderness”, so to speak, God reeled me back in and it was then that I realized what had happened. Once I asked for forgiveness and obeyed what He had wanted me to do in the first place, our fellowship was restored, and life became better. When He asked, “can you hear me now?”, I could respond, “yes”.

Is your signal bad? Are you hearing from God clearly? If not, it could be that you have covered your ears to what God is saying and you are living in disobedience.

1 Samuel 15:22 “Samuel said, “Has the Lord as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.”
