One of the cutest and most helpful cards I received during my recovery from knee surgery is this…

“If you have the ouchies…. I have the hugs”

This just hit me as a good piece of advice. I have needed the hugs and love of my friends and I have gotten them. Thank you for so many beautiful cards and your prayers. I’m recovering very well and have already come back to church for which  I’m GLAD.

We have been studying Psalms in S.S. and they are full of “hugs” and good advice.  Praising the Lord, shouting for joy, singing His praises, worshiping in holiness, giving to those in need, are all ways to feel God near to you especially during hard times.  If you are in need of a “hug” try reading through the Psalms.  Also, try reading a good book.  It will take you to wonderful places, it will give you ways to help those in need, it will encourage you to try something new, it will fill some of those empty  spaces with fun and entertainment.  I read the book by Fanny Flag, “ The All Girl Garage” and laughed many times about the women of by gone days.

The Chance by Karen Kingsbury

A Thousand Tomorrows by Karen Kingsbury

Last Light by Terri Blackstock

These Tangled Threads by Tracee Peterson & Judith Miller

Reading can be the “hugs” your body needs for all these rainy days.  Don’t forget to be thankful in all things, even the storms.

God loves you and I do too.
