Its time to start thinking about our spring and summer fellowship meals. Plans are underway for Pleasant Grove to provide lunch, as an outreach, to the Gilmer Junior Varsity and Varsity baseball players and their families in April. This will NOT be a church-wide meal, but we are asking our loving church members to provide food. Stay tuned for more information on how you can help with this meal.
Our 158th Homecoming service will be held on June 5th. And in keeping with tradition, lunch will be served after the morning service. Ordinarily, meat is not provided by the church at the Homecoming meal. But in past years, the church has had to provide meat due to the low number of members signing up to bring meat. Please, start thinking now about what you and your family can bring to the meal. Because of its popularity, we will again be asking the ladies (or men) of the church to adopt a table to decorate. We usually decorate 22 tables, so please consider adopting a table. Information on the table decorating theme will be posted in the Sunday bulletins at a later date.
The church-wide picnic will be held on June 26th at the picnic pavilion at the River Park, same as last year. Hotdogs and hamburgers will be provided by the church. If you plan to bring soft drinks, please bring cans or small bottles, pre-chilled if possible.
A few reminders for our church-wide meals.
If a sign-up sheet is available, PLEASE use it. It’s very helpful to the food services folks in planning the meals.
Plan to bring extra food for guests that may be eating at the meal.
We always need extra help before, during and after the meal. Please consider pitching in.
Consider bringing your food in a throw away container, so dishes won’t be left behind.
If you are interested in joining the food services team, please let Lea Wofford know. We look forward to fellowshipping with everyone this year.
