Do you look at our church Library as an arm of ministry? Our library can inform and enlighten you on many subjects. Our Sunday School teachers can use it for references and background material to teach. We have a lot of historical novels about real places and people. Their Christian lives will give you encouragement and helpful suggestions for Christian living. In June we are planning an open house for you to come and browse and meet our staff and see what is available. You will hear more about this later.
Are you interested in helping in the library? If you like to read and help people select good books and want to help promote our library, would you see me, Shirley, and I will talk to you about what we do. I especially would like help with our bulletin board and displays. I would be glad to help you learn to classify and catalog books. Shelf reading and weeding is something we do often.
We have had about 20 new books come in during March and they are out on the tables for you to see. Some of your favorite authors, such as Francine Rivers, David Jeremiah, Max Lucado, Lori Wick, Gilbert Morris, Tim LaHaye, and others too many to mention.
Please come in to visit and check out books soon. You can request a memorial to be put in our collection also. Pick one of our new books and I will put a plaque in the front with your loved ones name. A class can also do this.
Some of our books have been “out” for months and not been returned. Look around to see if you are keeping one on your shelf that needs returning. We have no time limit but 6 months is overdoing it. I won’t call names but you may get a call from me. When you sign the checkout card put the date on the card too. Thanks for your help.
APRIL is the month for “digging” in the dirt but you can dig in our collection and “grow” a good book too. See you in the “garden”.
