America 250 Flag Day Celebration
Join Gilmer County as we celebrate Flag Day 2026 with a special patriotic ceremony honoring our nation’s history and heritage as part of the America 250 commemoration leading up to the 250th anniversary of the United States.
The event will be held at the Gilmer High School Football Stadium and will feature a powerful tribute to the American flag and the freedoms it represents. The program will include a presentation on the history of our nation’s flag by the Daughters of the American Revolution, a community singing of “God Bless America,” and the dramatic unfurling of a 50-foot by 100-foot American flag, one of the largest flags in the nation.
The ceremony will also feature Pastor Dan Rosser singing the National Anthem, followed by a special military flyover to conclude the celebration. Patriotic organizations from across Gilmer County will be represented as we come together to honor our country, our veterans, and the values that unite us as Americans.
Those who would like to assist with the event are encouraged to arrive at 11:30 AM. The official ceremony begins at 1:00 PM.
Come be part of this historic community celebration as we honor our flag, remember our nation’s past, and look forward to America’s 250th birthday.
