Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, And a brother
is born for adversity.
Coleman and I were blessed to be able to go on the associational mission trip to Jamaica this summer. We were uncertain until the last minute if we were going to be able to go because of the hurricane that had just swept across the island of Jamaica. Fortunately, the area where the mission team goes was mostly unaffected by the storm, with only power outages and not much physical damage.
We would like to thank the church and everyone who helped to make the trip possible!
The team arrived and assisted the local pastor with VBS at three different churches in the mornings, and a revival in the evenings at 4 churches. It was hot and mosquito infest-ed but the trip was successful as many people were saved during the revivals, and many seeds were planted at the VBS.
Proverbs 17:17 was the theme verse for our VBS at the West Prospect church. In Proverbs 17:17 Solomon points out the value of a true friend and a brother. He says a true friend is always loving, and a brother helps in trying times.
We were able to use VBS materials from the USA to help discuss friendship with God as well, and how God is a friend who is real, a friend who loves, a friend we can trust, and a friend forever! Please continue to pray for the seeds that were planted to grow into a saving faith, and for the salvations to produce fruit.
