Sermon Title: 2×4 In Your Eye
Speaker: Associate Pastor Jeff Phillips
Scripture: Matthew 7:1–6
Supporting Scriptures: Matthew 17:15–16; John 7:24; Jonah 4:9–11

Join us this Sunday as Associate Pastor Jeff Phillips brings a message titled “2×4 In Your Eye” from Matthew 7:1–6. In these familiar verses, Jesus addresses the subject of judgment and challenges His followers to look honestly at their own lives before focusing on the faults of others.

Jesus’ command to “judge not” is not a call to abandon discernment. Instead, His teaching challenges us to examine our own hearts and motives so that we can see clearly and respond to others in a way that reflects God’s truth and grace.

In this message, we will explore three important questions:

Judge Not?
What did Jesus mean when He instructed His followers not to judge?

How Then Does Jesus Want His Followers to Judge?
Understanding the difference between hypocritical judgment and righteous, Christ-centered discernment.

Exercise Discernment!
Learning to recognize what is right and wrong while first examining our own hearts.

Through supporting passages from Matthew, John, and Jonah, this message will challenge us to practice biblical discernment with humility, wisdom, and grace.
