I don’t know about you, but it seems every day we are moving closer and closer to the return of Christ. When I see so much wickedness in the world around me and I also see God moving in lives, it does make me wonder if the time for the Rapture is near. However, the Word of God tells us that we can’t know the day or the hour, therefore, there is no reason to try to speculate on how soon. However, we can know that we are in the season regardless of how long that season is.
With the military action taken in Iran by our President, in conjunction with the nation of Israel, we know that terror threats and concerns may very well be looming. In light of that, we want to be wise in our approach to safety and awareness here at Pleasant Grove.
First let me remind you that God is on the throne and fear is a weapon of our real enemy, Satan. Let me remind you what God says through the prophet Isaiah.
Isaiah 41:10
10 Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand.
In Hebrews 13:5, God tells us that He will never leave or forsake us! We do not have to live in fear and when we place our trust in Him, we should not live in fear.
However, we are to be wise and use the common sense He has given us. On Sundays and Wednesdays, we have an off-duty Law Enforcement Officer here but that doesn’t mean we should not keep our eyes open to any suspicious behavior. So be alert and don’t be afraid to ask the officer to check out someone that appears to be up to something out of the ordinary.
If you are here for an event other than those two times, please don’t leave doors unlocked and unattended. Regardless of where you are meeting or having an activity in the building be sure you have someone watching and manning the door. Unfortunately, we don’t live in the days of leaving doors unlocked any more. Yes, we have 18 cameras on our campus to help with security, but we must also be wise and pay attention.
Again, fear should not grip us when we serve the Sovereign of the Universe. We can know that He is with us and will protect us while being proactive in protecting the people and the facility that He has entrusted
to us. We are blessed with great people and a great facility and we serve a Great and Almighty God.
