This may be the Library news but it’s from my “nest” at home right now.  As I sit here on the back porch soaking up the sun and beauty of the mountains, I am so very thankful for another successful surgery on my other knee and thankful for each of you and your prayers.  I can’t really remember it being this painful but in 10 yrs. you forget.  I feel so swollen like my  skin is going to burst open.  The nurse says the pain will go away if I keep moving and exercising but she’s not the one hurting.

I will be out of circulation for most of the summer but my library helpers are at work. I thank the Good Lord for them.  I want to tell you about the books I have been reading.  The Zion Chronicles, by Bodie Thoene. Five in the series.  They are about the days of reclaiming Israel as a statehood and how the Jews are allowed at last to return to their homeland. The struggle and pains of Partition they endured were as bad as the Holocaust. It has been 70 years now since the Statehood was established and this is a good time to reread about what has happened. As you know it is still happening to the Jews as persecution is great around the world. Because I am a Christian and read the Bible I know what God has in store for Israel until the end of time. They will be protected even with a battle the world says they cannot win.

Also, I am reading the book about Nehemiah rebuilding the great wall around Jerusalem after being destroyed and taken over by Babylonian Empire.  Granted an unexpected leave from his duty as cupbearer to King Artazerxes, Nehemiah sets out for Jerusalem to rebuild the city wall, never anticipating all the dangers that await him.

“On This Foundation” by Lynn Austin
“The Gates of Zion” by Thoene
“A Daughter of Zion”
“Return to Zion”
“A Light in Zion”
“The Key to Zion”

Next month, I will suggest some lighter reading. Just for Fun and Relaxation.  Have a great summer with a book always handy.
