I can hardly believe that the summer is flying by like it is.  July is upon us and we have a busy month coming up.  July 2nd we will have a cookout/picnic at the church at 5pm and I look forward to a time of fun and fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Christ.  I hope you will be able to join us and be a part of that time together.  The church will provide the hamburgers and hotdogs and everyone is asked to bring sides.

July 6th-7th we will be doing a short mission trip to Helen, GA to work alongside one of our state missionary.  Keith Ivey is our missionary over the Northeast GA resort area dealing with Helen, Blood Mountain, the Appalachian Trail, Mt. Yonah and other places in and around that region.  On Thursday we will have the opportunity to do some street ministry reaching out to the tourists there.  We will do some balloon animals, face painting and probably some salvation bracelets.  Keith will train us before we start on how to go about doing these things.  On Friday we will either do a back yard Bible Club or minister in a nursing home.  I hope you will join us and be a part of this simple and inexpensive outreach opportunity.

July 9th-13th we will have a Vacation Bible School.  Please be in prayer for those preparing to teach and lead during this time as well as the students that will attend.  Pray that God would be working in hearts and that any children that attend that don’t know Christ would place their faith in Christ during VBS.  So many children have come to Christ through the years at VBS so let’s pray for God to use us for His glory during this time.

Finally, be in prayer that we would all ask God to work in our hearts to be more keenly aware of the community around us and the reality that so many don’t know Jesus.  Ask God to help you be more intentional in sharing your faith, building relationships with people you encounter routinely and having the boldness to tell them how they can know Jesus.  We can be used of God to reach out into a lost and dying world and that starts with Gilmer County so let’s pray that God would increase our love for Him and for the lost.

In His Amazing Grace,
Dan
