1 Corinthians 12:14 – 17
“For the body is not one member, but many. 15 If the foot says, “Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body,” it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. 16 And if the ear says, “Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body,” it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be?”
In a recent youth Bible Study from our “Bible Studies for Life” materials we learned how the church is like a human body made up of many different parts, each with different abilities and with Jesus as the head. We discussed that even though the body would still function with some parts missing, it would be functioning with a disability or a disadvantage because of not having all of the parts. Sure, the church could function without a hand, or a foot, or even tastebuds. However, having all of the parts makes for a healthier body, and tastebuds sure make life sweeter.
Which part are you? Are you making life sweeter?
There are a few areas in the children and youth ministries where we could use more help.
- Children’s Sunday Morning Bible Study
- Youth Sunday Morning Bible Study
- Bus Ministry
- Easter Egg Hunt
On Sunday, March 28th immediately after the morning service, PGBC will host an egg hunt for the children’s and youth groups in the field next to the pavilion. This year’s egg hunt will not be community-wide, however, anyone is allowed to come. We will need plenty of hands and feet and tastebuds on scene to make everything go well.
We may not all have the same gifts and abilities, but we are of the same body.
