As I write this article, we have just come through the historic ice storm that never was! I am grateful that
we didn’t experience a bunch of ice and what that would have led to with power outages and the like. At
my house and at the church there was a little dusting of snow on this Monday morning, and I was grateful
to see that. I will confess that I enjoy seeing a good snow once in a while. The perfect snow for me is five
or six inches and within two days afterwards the roads are clear and the snow is almost gone. It’s
beautiful when it is on the ground, but I don’t want it to stay for too long!

We prepared for this event based on the forecasts that were given. The proper amount of food and
water in case the power went out. And yes, we got our bread and milk! Everyone knows you need bread and milk when winter weather is coming! We like to give the meteorologists a hard time about never getting it right, but the truth is they are simply reading computer models and making their best educated
guess as to what will actually play out. With all of our technology only God knows what will happen with
the weather. I honestly think God rather enjoys watching the computers trying to figure out what He
is up to.

When it comes to the end of times we can’t know with great specificity as to when the Lord is going to
return. However, we can examine things around us and realize that we are living in the season. All I can
do is to be prepared for when that day comes. One day God is going to call out the church and the
Tribulation will begin. No computer can predict that day and only the Father knows when that time will
come.

I pray that each one of us is living as if today could be the day! I pray that we see the urgency to tell others around us about Christ. In 2026, ask God to help you to regularly pray for people you know that are lost. Ask God to open the door for conversations that will help you share your faith with them.

Wednesday February 18 , we have Scott Sullivan from the Georgia Baptist Mission Board coming to share with us about how we can make a Bible Study groups intentionally evangelistic. I hope you will make plans to join us at 6pm for Chick-fil-a sandwiches and then listen as Scott shares with us how we can impact eternity one life at a time.

In His Amazing Grace,
Dan
