As we enter the month of November, we set aside a day every November to stop and be thankful. The truth is we should be thankful year-round and not just the last Thursday of November. However, I want to ask you to consider a few things you are thankful for, perhaps even pause every day this month to thank God for at least one thing. Try not to thank Him for the same thing every day but rather consider all that you have to be thankful for.
First of all, I am thankful for forgiveness and eternal life. Because of what Christ did on the cross I know where I am going to spend eternity. Because Christ conquered death and the grave I know that I will be in Heaven one day. I am and will be forever grateful for what Christ has done to secure my forgiveness and my eternity with Him.
Second, I am thankful for my wife and children. I am grateful for the blessing they are to me. I could not do what I do in the ministry week in and week out if it were not for a supportive and loving wife. She doesn’t always get the praise she deserves from me and far too often she gets the leftovers of my time and energy, but she continues to love and support me! I am blessed that I have a good relationship with both my children and they both love the Lord.
I am grateful for this church and for the friends that we have in this body of believers. I am grateful that I get to serve alongside you and watch as God works in us and through us to accomplish His purposes. I am grateful for your heart to serve God and to love others. I am grateful for the staff of this church that works as a team to advance the Kingdom of God through Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Finally, I am grateful for the hope of the future as God leads us until He returns. I know that He has great plans for us and wants to see us reach the lost near us and across the globe. Ask God to help us faithfully follow Him and then thank Him as we see us reach the lost near us and across the globe. Ask God to help us faithfully follow Him and then thank Him as we see His hand at work in our lives and in the lives of others.
